How we do it

At Live Well UK we want to make a difference. We work pragmatically to get our services and projects delivering real change. In our first year of running a stop smoking service in West London (read more)  we increased quitter activity by 48% and exceeded all of the quality markers set by our commissioner. We develop and manage our services and projects based on four guiding principles that help us to constantly push the boundaries:

Provide what the community needs

At Live Well UK we place great importance on finding out exactly what the needs of the local community are to guide the planning and ongoing management of a service or project. We use ward-level statistical analysis to help us but most importantly we talk to and continually engage with local people and the community groups that represent them.

Evidence and innovation

The core delivery of our work is based on evidence based best practice and all of our services and projects are designed with NICE and other guidance in mind. We then apply innovative techniques to take our work to the next level, for example using cutting edge mobile phone technology to deliver healthy lifestyle messages and running promotional events at Catholic mass to provide Polish communities with health promotion advice.

Our staff make the difference

At Live Well UK we place a high priority on employing not only the best staff but also a diverse mix of people that enables us to truly understand the needs of the populations we work with.
